Like Field Notes, Equipment Notes are freeform notes (with optional file attachments) attached directly to an Equipment record, for anything that doesn't belong in a structured Maintenance entry.

From an Equipment record, click Add New in the Notes section.

Enter your note and optionally attach one or more files.

Save.
Edit or delete an existing note from the same list.
FAQ
What's the difference between an Equipment Note and a Maintenance record? Maintenance records are structured (date, work done, parts used) and feed Maintenance History. Notes are freeform and don't affect any tracking; use them for anything else worth remembering about that equipment.
Why can't I add an Equipment Note? You need the Manage Equipment permission.
