Parts are tracked separately from Equipment so the same part (a filter or belt, for example) can be linked to more than one piece of equipment instead of being duplicated per machine.

Go to Equipment, click Parts Inventory, then click Add New Part.

Set a quantity on hand.

Link the part to whichever Equipment it fits. A part can be linked to more than one piece of equipment, and cross-referenced by alternate part numbers if it's sold under more than one number.

When you log Maintenance and use a part, its quantity on hand adjusts automatically. Deleting that Maintenance record later, or removing a part line from it, returns the quantity used back to inventory.
You can also adjust quantities manually: click Edit QoH on the Parts list to update several parts inline at once, or open a Part's own page to adjust just that one (for a recount or a purchase that didn't go through Maintenance).
FAQ
A Part's quantity looks wrong. Check both its Maintenance usage history and any manual quantity adjustments on the Part's own page or the Parts list; quantity changes from all of those places, so it's worth checking each if a number looks off.
Can a Part's quantity go negative? No. If Maintenance usage exceeds what's on hand, Binstor floors it at 0 and flags it rather than letting it go negative. Treat a Part sitting at 0 after logging Maintenance as a sign your recorded stock was already behind reality, not as an error.
Why can't I add or edit Parts? You need the Manage Equipment permission. Parts share the same permission as Equipment itself; there's no separate Parts-only permission.
What are cross-references for? If a part is sold under more than one part number (different supplier, different equipment maker's own numbering), cross-references let you look it up by any of those numbers instead of just the one you originally entered it under.
